Make no mistake, these are not typical fantasy leagues. We strongly urge anyone who is considering joining one of these leagues to carefully read over the rules, the scoring, the draft details, and the types of leagues these are.

In order to maximize the realistic feel of owning and managing your own major league baseball team, we've set these leagues up as keeper leagues. That means that managers who decide to take control of one of these teams will not redraft new teams every year going forward. Instead, each team will have a roster of 30 players, and you will be able to keep up to a maximum of 15 of those players for as long as you like. This will allow team owners to strategize for the long-term success of their team as they try to build a dynasty!

 

Some of the other unique qualities of these league rules are:

• Head-to-head matchups each week.
• 3 Division winners and 3 wildcards will make the playoffs in each league.
• No limit on Trades - but a trade deadline of August 10, 2023.
• No weekly limits on waiver wire acquisitions.
• Deep, 30-man rosters and 12-team leagues increase the value of marginal players who aren't usually drafted into standard roster fantasy leagues. This makes rookies and players returning from extended injury absences far more valuable than usual - just like in real-life baseball.
•  Live salary cap drafts give every team owner the opportunity to bid as high as they want to procure their personal must-have players and not have to rely on the random draft order of most traditional snake-style drafts. However, going too crazy on the bidding process puts the owner at risk of shorting the remainder of the cap space they have to fill out the remainder of their roster.
• Team owners have the ability to not only trade an unlimited amount of times but also to trade future draft picks in an effort to make that last-ditch, trade-deadline push to win now.
• Scoring in these leagues utilizes the full complement of 15 offensive and 15 defensive scoring categories, but not all of them award points. Several statistics of both the pitching and the hitting categories not only award points for good performances but also deduct points for things like grounding into double plays, letting inherited runners score, blowing saves, or committing fielding errors - all factors that a good owner must consider when deciding which players to draft and how high to bid on each of them.
• Also, Conversation Sports Fantasy League owners will have the opportunity to communicate with each other and smack talk if desired, across all of our social media footprints and here on our website - features that Yahoo has eliminated this year.
• We plan to shortly add a podcast where we will talk about the performance of our leagues
